Physical Description:
Tenmei Kakyoin is a 18 year old teenage boy who is 168 cm tall and has a slender build. He has a slim face and thin eyebrows and lips. His hairstyle and outfit changes multiple times throughout the story.
DIO Mind Controlled (Introduction)
When going out to Assassinate Jotaro under DIO’s control, Tenmei wears a slim fitting long black Gakuran. He has long black pin-straight hair that reaches to the bottom of his neck, along with a thick comb over bang parted to the left. His accessories include a very long white plain scarf, silver cross earrings, and silver cross cufflinks. Lastly. He wears black penny loafers with white socks.
Optional: Black Lipstick, Silver Cross Necklace (necklace may clutter his design, so made optional)
This outfit is supposed to show him in this state as more openly flamboyant due to DIO’s influence, as well with religious motifs that fit his Stand and his Devotion to DIO. The black fits DIO’s evil influence on Tenmei, as well as being the same color as Jotaro's/the School’s uniform.
First Half Outfit
After being freed from DIO’s control, he changes into his own, more modest school uniform. It’s an average length slim fitting gray Gakuran with brown penny loafers and white socks. He changed his bangs to straight. He doesn’t have any additional accessories. In the reference photos, it is the portrait photo to the left, and the second outfit.
The long hair is optional (haven't decided on it yet)
Second Half Outfits (Post Death 13) **
Now that Tenmei/Taeko is more sure in his own identity after Death 13’s Defeat, she’s changed her hairstyle and has multiple outfits to reflect his true self. He now looks more similar to Canon Kakyoin in his hairstyle and outfits.
His hair is light pink. His hair goes down to his shoulders, but it’s no longer pin straight. He can tie it up into a ponytail if he needs to. His hair is parted in the middle and his bang is long and twisting past his chin. His bang can be/be cheated to either side of his part. He also wears long cherry earrings, two on each ear with one earring longer than the other on both sides.
His more masculine outfit is the same as Canon Kakyoin’s. A long slim fitting green gakuran with brown penny loafers with short socks. This is the only outfit out of this section he will wear when out in public. ***
Her more feminine outfit is a green sailor fuku with loose/baggy socks and brown penny loafers.
His androgynous outfits are a mix of the above outfits. He most often wears the long green slim fitting Gakuran top with the skirt, and loose/baggy socks. She can also wear a sailor fuku top with the green pants from his Gakuran and short socks. Both outfits have brown penny loafers.
Part 4+
I don't have any outfits made for after part 3 at the moment. He has the same hairstyle as the above section, but can be a bit longer. This Pintrest Board section has some outfit ideas. Feel free to experiment.
Personality Description:
Surface Level **
Tenmei Kakyoin is a shy and self-conscious teenager. He is rather gentle hearted and generally avoids conflict and confrontation, especially violence unless absolutely necessary. He acts with virtue and kindness, but if left with no options he will resort to underhanded tactics. He can be very calculating and creative with his own abilities, even more so when he is pushed to in dire situations.
Deeper Level
Tenmei usually distances himself from others because he feels like he doesn't belong. Being a stand user from an early age, he feels like no one understands him. (Plus undiagnosed Autism) He didn’t understand what his stand was and why only he could see it. Initially, he was scared of it, but learning more about it himself over time, he learned that he has conscious control over it.
Another aspect of this is that he experienced some bullying at school. It got worse and worse as he got older and expectations to fit in got higher. His more gentle and feminine demeanor and hobbies (that he started to hide from others) make others look down on him, even when out of school from enemy stand users.
The reason Tenmei is terrified of his own attraction to men and telling other people about it is because he’s terrified of what other people would think of him. Other than the Shoujo he reads, he hasn’t met any other gay people. This makes him feel even more isolated and alienated from everyone. He’s terrified that his new friends (the crusaders) will be uncomfortable or even hate him because of his orientation, but they soon show him that they are accepting of him and he doesn’t need to be afraid of them. *
He wants to be true to himself, but he can’t because he fears other people and himself. *
At/Before the very start of Part 3, Tenmei had no one to confide or find solace with. He ostracized himself from his family, including his parents, because he couldn’t connect with them and be honest with himself.
Post Death 13 *
Tenmei/Taeko has become more sure of his own identity. He is finally fully comfortable with his friends/the other crusaders. He is still shy and insecure around other people though.
Part 4+
Over the years, he has gotten much more confident in himself. He's no longer the shy and insecure boy he once was. Taeko and Jotaro have now gone public with their relationship, and Taeko is now open about his identity.
